The Red Rose City - 1 day - Only $159
Drive through the Jordanian desert, enjoy a short city tour of Aqaba, and then explore this legendary city spread over 19 square km. Tour Details:
- Leave Eilat, Israel in the morning, cross the Arava border and drive to Petra, through the scenic Jordanian desert, past the Wadi Rum area, where Lawrence of Arabia once lived and fought with the Bedouin.
- Arrive at Petra.
- Enter the Rose City of Petra through the Siq, a narrow passage through the mountains which has inspired awe for centuries - up to the treasury which suddenly appears at the end of the gorge, leaving the visitors breath taken by its size, color and beauty.
- Continue into the heart of this ancient city carved into the mountains, passing hundreds of tombs and monuments and a spectacular Amphitheatre which once held 3,000 spectators.
- After our visit to Petra, a stop for a sit-down lunch, followed by a visit to Moses Spring before leaving Wadi Moussa (the new town of Petra).
- Drive on to Aqaba for a short city tour, return to the Arava border and back to Eilat.
The Best of the Hashemite Kingdom - 2 days Only $340
This tour leaves from Eilat and requires a minimum of 2 participants.
- Day 1
Leave Eilat in the morning, cross the Arava border where your Jordanian guide and security will meet you. Begin the day with a tour of Aqaba, the local market and the flag of the Great Revolution. Free time for lunch.
After lunch, get ready for an amazing 2.5 hour jeep safari in Wadi Rum, one of the most beautiful deserts in the world, where Lawrence of Arabia once lived and fought with the Bedouin.
Spend the night in a camping site where you will enjoy warm Bedouin hospitality with dinner served at the main tent under the stars!
- Day 2
The next morning, you will head for the Red Rose city of Petra. General Information for trips to Jordan
- You should be ready to go at the exact pick-up time.
- Have passports & cash for the border fees with you,
and eat breakfast before you go!
- Passport control on both borders can take from 30 mins
to 1.5 hrs.
- The lunch at Petra is included in the 1 day tour, but drinks are not.
- The $35/person for borders fees & tip for Jordanian guide are not included in the price of
the 1 day tour (this should be paid directly to your Israeli operator at the border).
- The border taxes for the 2 day trip is $30 (not including tip) and is not included.
- The horse ride at the entrance to Petra is included in the 2 day tour, but not the private carriage. If you
would like to reserve the carriage, your guide will do it on the spot.
- You can use dollars, Euros and even shekels in Jordan, but only bills, not coins. You are better off exchanging money in Israel to the local currency - the Dinar.
- Every person holding an Israeli passport MUST use the Israeli passport to cross the border.
- Your English-speaking guide will be waiting for you on the Jordanian side of the border.
- The drive to Petra from Eilat takes approximately 2 hours.
- Lunch is not included on the 2 day tour.
- Tips are not included.
